Jon Snow
We start with arguably the most beloved character in the GOT Universe, Jon Snow. Known for his unwavering principles, loyalty, and courage, the ‘White Wolf’ is seen as the protector of his family and one of the contenders for the Iron Throne. However, he is known to get swayed by his emotions. For this reason, he would probably be a conservative investor who would prioritise capital safety over massive profits, investing in FDs or other debt funds. That said, given how GOT ended, Snow could completely go against everyone’s expectations and aggressively invest in high-risk mutual funds too.
Cersei Lannister
If there was anyone born to navigate the game of snakes and ladders that is the Iron Throne, it is Cersei Lannister. What type of an investor would she be? Her quote, ‘When you play the Game of Thrones, you win, or you die’, perfectly sums up her character. Cersei is a high roller, willing to risk everything to win the ultimate prize. In this game of high-risk-high-reward, she would either be an options or commodity trader or a hedge fund manager, willing to do anything to achieve her targets!
Tyrion Lannister
Looks can be deceiving, and when everyone underestimates you, that is when you are truly in control. Tyrion, brother of Cersei and Jaime Lannister, proved during the show that he was a capable Hand of the King, as he could read people and the situation and adapt his strategies accordingly. He was adept at playing the game, and when everyone else around him fell, he managed to get out of tight situations using his sharp wits. So, when it comes to the type of investor, he would make an astute mutual fund manager who would effortlessly navigate volatile markets.
Jaime Lannister
While Jaime wasn’t a very well-liked character at the beginning, he redeemed himself towards the end of the show. The ‘Kingslayer’, though deeply entrenched in his family’s misdeeds, stood for bravery and courage and often said, ‘A Lannister always pays his debt’. Given his chequered past, we know that he takes calculated risks but is also pragmatic enough to fight another day. As an investor, Jaime would probably invest in mid-cap and multi-cap funds.
Arya Stark
Arguably, the character who witnessed more growth and development than others during the course of the show, Arya Stark transformed from a meek little girl to a fearless teenager, putting her enemies away without hesitation. The ‘Girl with no name’ eventually set sail to explore unchartered territories, and because of her fearlessness and adventurous spirit, she would most probably invest in small-cap funds.
Peter Baelish
One of the more shrewd characters on the show, Lord Baelish hedges his risks extremely well and thrives on chaos surrounding him. Meticulous and staying two steps ahead of others, he was able to maintain amicable relationships with everyone without ever letting out his true intentions. So, what type of an investor would he be? We think he would either opt for moderately risky funds or select ELSS funds, given his calculated and astute character.
Daenerys Targaryen
Dubbed ‘Khaleesi’, the Mother of Dragons was, at least in the fans’ eyes, the ideal candidate to capture the Iron Throne. Known for her virtues like patience, making the right decision at the right time, and not shying away from risks when needed, she can also be dubbed the ‘Mother of Bulls’. Coming to the type of investor she would be, we believe she could have been the Vijay Kedia or Rakesh Jhunjhunwala of the Indian share market!
