Lifestyle expenses, utility bills, and repayment of loans and credit cards all come with a deadline. You are usually required to pay these recurring expenses on a monthly basis. Missing your due dates on some of these bills will not incur interest. However, credit card dues will attract a hefty interest in case you pay beyond the grace period. Thus, issuers have introduced various modes of credit card payment so as to encourage you to pay your credit card bills on time.

Here are the 4 easy ways you can make your credit card payment.

Issuer’s mobile app

Most issuers have their own mobile apps through which you can make credit card payments. For instance, if you are using the versatile Bajaj Finserv RBL Bank Credit Card, then you can pay its bill conveniently via the RBL MyCard application. This app has a user-friendly interface that allows you to keep track of your transactions on the go. You can also access your credit card statement with just a click and convert the eligible transactions into EMIs at your convenience.

Register for this app by sending ‘MyCard’ to 5607011 via SMS or simply download it from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Net banking

Alternatively, you can use your savings or current bank account to pay your credit card bills. Here you need to initiate the payment via the net banking method. Note that you can only avail this facility on registering for it. Once you are registered, log in to your credit card account and head to the payment page. At this stage, select your bank from the net banking options provided. Enter your internet banking user ID and password at the next step and confirm the payment using the OTP you receive on your registered mobile number. That’s it! Within seconds you will receive a payment confirmation SMS and email from your bank.

NEFT

If you do not want to route your transactions through your credit card account and want to facilitate direct payment from your savings account, then use the NEFT facility. To do this, you will have to add your credit card account as a beneficiary account in your bank account. In order to do this, you will have to check the beneficiary details of the credit card issuer. Just enter the information provided and register your issuer as a beneficiary. Then, every month, pay the credit card bills to this account by logging in to your bank account. Note that the payments that you make after banking hours are credited only on the succeeding business day. That’s why it is important that you plan your payment in advance so that your issuer receives your payment well within the due date.

NACH

If you forget to pay your credit card bills on time every month, automating the payment is perhaps your best bet. One such way to automate credit card bill payment is by setting up NACH facility for your credit card account. To register for this service, you have to submit the NACH mandate form to your bank and request them to link your credit card account to your bank account. Then, each month, a chosen amount based on your specifications will get deducted from your bank account automatically. This will then be used to pay off your credit card bills. You can choose how much you wish to pay and set a limit for deductions too.

With such easy modes as options, you can make your credit card bill payment at your convenience and avoid incurring a hefty interest rate as a penalty on the outstanding amount and ultimately keep your credit score in good shape.
