Health insurance claim can be claimed in two ways. In case of planned hospitalization, one can opt for cashless treatment, in case the hospital is one of the network hospitals. The insurance company has to be intimated two days before the hospitalization. A form would have to be filled and submitted to the TPA counter, along with the insurance card and KYC documents. It is advisable to ask for a copy of the records as well. One should also retain all the documents regarding pre and post hospitalization. When the time of billing arrives, the hospital will settle the bills directly with the insurance company. In case of reimbursement medical insurance claim process, all the bills including tests, hospitalization, and medicines should be retained to be handed over to the insurance company and all of them would be reimbursed to the Insured or insured's family.
