MHADA Housing Scheme in Maharashtra

The MHADA Housing Scheme, started by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority is offering 1,384 houses in various categories across Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad etc. via MHADA lottery. Applicants must file their applications before December 10, as the lottery date is on December 16. The MHADA Housing Scheme will hold the lottery at their headquarters at Bandra East.

MHADA Housing is offering properties in various localities such as Tunga Powai, Mankhurd, Mulund, Gavhanpada, Sion, Pratiksha Nagar, Antop Hill, Mahavir Nagar in Kandivli West, Siddharth Nagar in Goregaon West.

Under the MHADA Lottery, an LIG flat is available at Rs. 20-35 Lakh, while the starting price for an EWS flat is Rs. 14 Lakh. The price of an HIG apartment starts at Rs. 60 Lakh and goes up to Rs. 5.8 crores. The prices of MIG tenements start from Rs. 35 Lakh and go up to Rs. 60 Lakh. Buyers will have to pay stamp duty on the cost of the unit.
 

Eligibility Criteria for MHADA Lottery


The MHADA online form declares the eligibility for the MHADA lottery. The applicant must possess a domicile certificate to prove that he/she has stayed in Maharashtra for 15 continuous years. In addition, the applicant must also be at least 18 years old and possess a PAN card. Documentary proof required to show income for the financial year is:

 

  • EWS or Economically Weaker Section – up to Rs. 25,000/-
  • LIG or Lower Income Group – Rs. 25,001/- to Rs. 50,000/-
  • MIG or Middle-Income Group – Rs. 50,001/- to Rs. 75,000/-
  • HIG or High-Income Group – Rs. 75,001/- and above.

Please note, the income is average monthly income, and excludes reimbursement allowances such as transport, medical, laundry, and so on.

How to Apply for MHADA Lottery Scheme?


The applicant must register on the portal, creating a username and password. They must fill in the MHADA online form, providing name, family income, PAN card number, date of birth, occupation, marital status, gender, residential address, own mobile number, and other information. For all future reference, the applicant’s mobile number will be used, therefore submitting a valid mobile number is essential.

Once the applicant logs in, they can see the various MHADA Housing Schemes presently available. They can select the MHADA Lottery from the options available. The scheme code is available either in the online annexures or in the brochure. The scheme code is a reference to the shortlisted location. The applicant must also mention their bank account details. Additionally, the applicant must offer an undertaking that they or their immediate family members do not own any other property in the city.

After completing the online application, the applicant has to pay the application fee. Payment is to be made via debit/credit card or through NEFT/RTGS online. Demand drafts are also acceptable. Along with the list of schemes, the payment options are also listed online.

For paying through demand draft, the applicant mut print a copy of the application form and submit it at the designated bank along with the DD. For paying online, the candidate must upload an image of a cancelled cheque and make the payment to the MHADA bank account. The payment portal allows generating a payment slip for future reference.
