How to know the PF account number?

Here are several ways to go about it.

1. Check for the number in your salary slip
Your employer operates your EPF account and you will find your EPF account number on your salary slip. Apart from this number, you will also find the month’s PF contribution detailed in the slip itself.

2. Consult the HR department at your workplace
If your company doesn’t provide a salary slip, or if you don’t find the EPF account number on it, you should immediately contact a member of the HR department and ask for it. In case you receive all your salary slips at the end of the year, you may need to implement this step.

3. Use the UAN portal if you have a UAN
Another easy way of getting your PF account number is by using your UAN. This is a unique code provided to EPF holders and you can use it to perform a range of important functions.
- Use your UAN to log in to the UAN portal and check all your PF related information.
- Once you log in you can check your balance, retrieve statements, and even initiate a withdrawal as per your convenience.
- Moreover, you can also access your account on the UMANG app. All you have to do is log in, select the EPF service and click on ‘Employee Centric Services’. After that click on the ‘View passbook’ option. Once you authorise the login with an OTP, you will be able to view all EPF account details.

4. Visit the regional office as a last resort
If none of these options work, as a last resort you can visit your EPFO office. Approach the grievance cell and submit your KYC details along with a grievance redressal form. Once processed, you will receive all the details pertaining to your account.

These are some of the ways in which you can find out your PF account number. Keeping this number handy in future will allow you to keep track your PF balance and transactions pertaining to your account.
