What is the stamp duty rates in Hyderabad?

Hyderabad offers one of the lowest stamp duty rates in the country, amounting to approximately 6% of the property's market value in most cases. The stamp duty payment can be made at the sub-registrar's office, and upon payment, a computer-generated slip is issued.

For apartments and flats, the fixed stamp duty rate in Hyderabad is 4%, along with registration fees of 0.5% and transfer fees of 1.5%. If you have a sale agreement with the builder or owner and have already taken possession of the flat, the stamp duty and house registration charges will remain unchanged.

However, if you, as the buyer, do not yet have possession of the flat, the stamp duty payment will be 0.5% of the property's market value. In both cases, the registration fees will be 0.5% of the property's market value, with a minimum of Rs. 5,000 and a maximum of Rs. 20,000.

In situations where the flat's owner is represented by someone with power of attorney or GPA, the stamp duty charges are fixed at 5%, with a registration fee of Rs. 2,000.
