PMAY Gramin List 2022-23
PM Awas Yojana was launched by the central government to make affordable housing accessible to everyone, both in the urban and rural areas under PMAY-U and PMAY-G respectively. Originally started in 1985 as 'Indira Awas Yojana', this scheme was revamped and relaunched as PMAY under the present government in 2016 to achieve its vision of 'Housing for All'.
The aim of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G) is to construct pucca houses with the basic amenities of water, electricity and sanitation to all eligible rural houses. Features of PMAY Gramin
The PMAY-G scheme has many salient features. These are:

Housing for all
The government plans to meet its goal of building 2.9 crore pucca housing units by 31 March 2024 in two phases. The first phase has been completed, while the second phase is currently underway.

Monetary aid
Under PMAY Rural, monetary aid up to Rs. 1.2 lakh is offered for constructing houses in the plain areas and Rs. 1.3 lakh in hilly areas, North-Eastern states and few other areas.

Cost sharing
The cost of building the requisite housing units is shared between the central and state governments in the ratio 60:40. In the hilly areas like the North East states and Jammu & Kashmir, this ratio changes to 90:10.

Assistance for toilets
Beneficiaries can avail assistance of Rs. 12,000 for building toilets through Swachh Bharat Mission or any other scheme.

Employment benefits
Apart from facilitating low-cost housing requirements, PM Awas Yojana provides 90-95 days of employment to beneficiaries under MGNREGA.

Housing unit size
The minimum area or size of houses has been increased from 20 sq.mt to 25 sq. mt.

Borrowing facility
Home loans up to Rs. 70,000 can be availed from any authorised financial institution.

House design
Beneficiaries can choose the design of their house based on topography, climate, culture and other housing practices.

How can I apply for PMAY Gramin Online 2022?
Interested candidates can apply, add beneficiary names or register for PMAY by following these simple steps:
- 1 Visit the official PMAY website
- 2 Type in the required personal details - gender, mobile number, Aadhar number etc
- 3 Click the 'Search' button and find beneficiary name, PMAY ID and priority
- 4 Click 'Select to Register'
- 5 Enter the beneficiary details, MGNREGA job card number and Swachh Bharat Mission number
- 6 Click 'Submit' to generate your registration number
Beneficiaries under PMAY-G Scheme
To list in PMAY-G beneficiaries must meet certain socio-economic factors that decide priority. These include:
- Absence of any adult member between the ages of 16 to 59 years in the family
- No literate member above 25 years
- Household headed by a female with no adult member between 16 to 59 years of age
- Family consists of a disabled member and no able-bodied adult
- Households that own no house/ land and earn mostly through casual labour
- Family comprises of spouse and unmarried children
What is the PMAY-G beneficiary list?
- Families of Economic Weaker Sections (EWS) with income up to Rs. 3 lakh
- Scheduled castes and scheduled tribes
- Low Income Group (LIG) families with earnings between Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 6 lakh
- Middle Income Group (MIG) families with a salary scale between Rs. 6 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh

Applicants registered under PMAY-G can easily check their name online in the PMAY Gramin list with or without their registration number in the following ways:
Step 1: Visit the official PMAY-G website
Step 2: Scroll to 'Stakeholders' option on the homepage menu bar
Step 3: A drop-down menu appears. Click on 'IAY/ PMAY-G Beneficiary'
A) With registration number
If you wish to check the beneficiary list with your registration number, type the registration number in the blank field and click 'Submit'. If your name appears in the PMAY Gramin list, you can then verify the related details.
B) Without registration number
If you wish to check the beneficiary list without a registration number, follow these steps:
- Click on 'Advanced Search' option at the bottom right-hand side of the page
- Fill in the specified details - State, district, block, panchayat, etc
- Furnish any of these details - Name, BPL number along with account number, sanction order, father/ husband name to proceed
- Click 'Search' to find your name in the list
Step 1: Visit the PMAY official portal
Step 2: Click on 'Reports' under 'Awaassoft' on the home page
Step 3: Now, go to 'Social Audit Reports'
Step 4: Click on 'Beneficiary Details' for verification
Step 5: Choose the required fields under 'Selection Filters'. Select the year, scheme, state, district, block and panchayat.
Step 6: Enter captcha code. Click 'Submit'
The PMAY-G list will be seen on the screen. This list can be downloaded in Excel or PDF format.
The government has granted extension of the PMAY-G or PMAY-R scheme for another two years till March 31, 2024. Financial assistance has been granted for the completion of the remaining 1.3 crore houses to achieve the official target of 2.95 crore pucca units. 1.65 crore PMAY-G houses have been constructed as of November 2021.
The total funding for PMAY Gramin has been approved by the central government for Rs. 2,17,257 crore - the central share is estimated to be Rs. 1,25,106 crore, while the state share stands at Rs. 73,475crore.
