If you do not have this number, known as a Universal Account Number or UAN, make it a priority to identify and save it. Here is how you can do so with ease.

2. Consult the HR department at your workplace

If your company does not provide a salary slip, or if you do not find the EPF account number on it, you should immediately contact a member of the HR department and ask for it. If you receive all your salary slips at the end of the year, you may need to implement this step.

3. Use the UAN portal

Another easy way of getting your PF account number is by using your UAN. This is a unique code provided to EPF holders, and you can use it to perform a range of essential functions.

Use your UAN to log in to the UAN portal and check all your PF related information. Once you log in, you can check your balance, retrieve statements, and even initiate a withdrawal as per your convenience. Moreover, you can also access your account on the UMANG app. All you have to do is log in, select the EPF service and click on ‘Employee Centric Services. After that, click on the ‘view passbook’ option. Once you authorise the login with an OTP, you will be able to view all EPF account details.

4. Visit the regional office

If none of these options works, as a last resort, you can visit your EPFO office. Approach the grievance cell and submit your KYC details along with a grievance redressal forum. Once processed, you will receive all the details about your account.

These are some of how you can find out your PF account number. Keeping this number handy in the future will allow you to track your PF balance and transactions about your account.

1. Through Mobile (Registered Number):

If your mobile number is registered and linked to the PF account, you will receive regular notifications whenever the stipulated amount is deposited.

2. Through UMANG App:

The government introduced the UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-Age Governance) App, simplifying EPF account checks for salaried individuals. This app can be downloaded from the Play Store, you can login using your mobile number and check your PF number.

3. Through PAN Number:

1. Log in to the EPF portal.
2. Enter the PAN number, name, date of birth, mobile number, and CAPTCHA code.
3. Click 'Get Authorisation Pin.'
4. Click 'I Agree' and enter the One-time password (OTP) received through email and the registered mobile number with the PAN card.
5. Finally, click on 'Validate OTP and Get UAN.'

MH: Represents the region or state. Here MA means Maharashtra.

BAN: The next 3 characters represents office code

0000064: The next seven digits denote the establishment PF code

000: These are establishment extension

0000126: The last 7 digits are the actual PF number of the employee
