The Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (MPERC) has recently reduced the late payment surcharge rate for distribution companies (DISCOMs) in the state. The new rate applies if payment is delayed by 45 days.

The late payment surcharge has been lowered to 1.25% per month from the previous rate of 1.5% per month.
