Applying for an EC online is a straightforward process and with the help of the online portal, it is a hassle-free process. Here are the steps to get an Encumbrance Certificate online in Telangana:
- Visit the Meeseva portal
- Navigate to ‘Government Forms’
- Upon being redirected to the next webpage click on ‘Meeseva Services’ for the list of services available
- Click on the department that looks after ‘Encumbrance Certificate’
- Download the Application Form from the portal
- Fill out the application form with the required details and attach the required property documents, KYC details and other related documents affixed with your signature
- Visit your nearest Meeseva office and submit the document
- At the time of submission there will be application fees that need to be paid
- After making the payment and submission of documents an acknowledgement receipt will be generated against your application
- An officer will be assigned for the verification of your documents
- Upon verifying the status of your application will be updated at the Meeseva office and via SMS to your registered mobile number
Steps to get EC Offline on IGRS Telangana Portal
Here is how you can get an EC offline:
- 1 You will have to visit your local sub-registrar office depending on which juristic your property comes under.
- 2 Procure Form 22 and fill in the form with the required details such as the name of the seller, buyer etc.
- 3 While submitting the form you will be required to pay an application fee which consists of services charges and the cost of EC depends, if your search is more than 30 years the cost is Rs. 500 and if the search is up to 30 years then the cost is Rs. 200.
- 4 After making the payment you will receive a reference number against your application. You may use this number to track the status of your application.

- 1 Visit the Registration and Stamps Department website
- 2 Navigate to the ‘Online Services’ section and select ‘Encumbrance Certificate’
- 3 You will be redirected to the disclaimer page which states what the EC is about. After reading the disclaimer click on ‘Submit’
- 4 At the next age you will be provided with an option for a search
- 5 If you select via ‘Document Number’ enter the first few letters of your SRO and the year of registration in the required fields
- 6 If you select via ‘Form Entry’ enter the required details such as the name of the village, district, flat number, block, ward, and other SRO details.
