How is the IGL gas bill calculated?

Your IGL gas bill is calculated based on the gas consumed (meter reading) multiplied by the applicable PNG tariff for your city, plus fixed or service charges and taxes.

For Piped Natural Gas (PNG), the units consumed are measured in Standard Cubic Metres (SCM) and recorded through the gas meter installed at your premises. The meter reading is usually taken once every two months, and the total units consumed are multiplied by the applicable per-SCM tariff. Fixed charges, any minimum-charge component, and applicable taxes are then added to calculate the final bill amount.

For Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), billing is done per kilogram at the fuel station based on the prevailing city rate. You can also learn about the difference between CNG and LPG to better understand fuel costs and usage.
