How to calculate GST

GST brings together all other taxes under its purview, so calculating it manually can be a cumbersome task. But as a taxpayer, while calculating GST corresponding to your GSTIN, you need to consider a list of charges. Starting from reverse charge, exempted supplies charge, and inter-state sales charge, along with the eligible and non-eligible ITC. So, to put it simply, your GST due is a total of GST payable on reverse charge, inward supplies, and outward supplies. This total is calculated individually for each month, which you file through the GSTR 3B form and then pay as per the due dates. Alternatively, you can use a GST calculator to make your GST calculation hassle-free and straightforward.

Impact of GST

As GST consolidates several different taxes into one, it has abolished the cascading effect taxes had on your revenue in the past. As a result, GST is likely to save at least 32% of your revenue that you may have earlier diverted towards these varied taxes.

The impact of GST has been increased ease of doing business along with a more transparent and ethical system. This has helped India get better representation within the international market, as Indian goods, commodities, and services have become more competitive in the global and local markets.

As an individual, you should be sure to check and adhere to your GSTR 3B filing due date to file your interim GST on time without incurring any penalties.
