Delhi Ration Card 2026: How to Apply, Eligibility and Required Documents

Applications are also accepted offline at the nearest Circle Office across Delhi's 12 food distribution zones.

Step-by-step application process:

1. Visit the NFS Delhi portal at nfs.delhigovt.nic.in and click 'Apply Online for Food Security' under 'Citizen's Corner'
2. You will be redirected to the e-District Delhi portal at edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in
3. Register as a new user or log in with existing credentials
4. Select 'New Ration Card Registration Form' and fill in all family member details and address
5. Upload all required documents
6. Submit the application and note your NFS Application ID or Reference Number
7. Your application will undergo field verification where an officer may visit your residence
8. On approval, you will receive an SMS notification and can download your e-Ration Card from the portal

Delhi NFSA ration card holders can collect food grains from any Fair Price Shop across India under the One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) scheme.

The ONORC scheme allows migrant workers, students, and travelling families to access their entitled food grains at any PDS shop in the country. The Mera Ration mobile app helps ONORC beneficiaries locate nearby Fair Price Shops.

Biometric failure at FPS: Delhi's e-Coupon system requires Aadhaar biometric at every collection. If fingerprint fails, try iris authentication. If both fail, visit the Circle Office for biometric update — this is a more common issue in Delhi's dense urban FPS network than in smaller towns.

Name mismatch between Aadhaar and ration card: Correct the name in Aadhaar first at the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra, then update the ration card at the supply office or online portal.

Application rejected: Check the rejection reason on the portal. Common reasons include income above the eligible limit, duplicate application, or missing documents. Correct and reapply.

Ration not received at Fair Price Shop: Contact the 1967 / 1800-110-841 helpline. File a grievance through the state PDS grievance portal if the issue persists.
