  2. Set up your MPIN: If you have not already created an MPIN, you will be prompted to do so during the initial login process. Choose a 4 or 6-digit PIN that is easy to remember but difficult for others to guess. Avoid using birthdays or sequential numbers.
  3. Confirm your MPIN: Once you have chosen your MPIN, re-enter it for confirmation.
  4. Secure your MPIN: Remember, never share your MPIN with anyone, including bank representatives. It is your key to secure mobile banking access and transactions.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find my UPI PIN?

Unfortunately, you cannot directly find your UPI PIN. It is a confidential security code you create during UPI account setup within the specific app you're using. If you have forgotten your UPI PIN:

  • Open the UPI app (including your mobile banking app if it offers UPI functionality).
  • Look for a ‘FORGOT UPI PIN or "RESET UPI PIN" option.
  • Follow the app's instructions, which may involve entering your debit card details and the last received OTP (One Time Password).

Important Note: Your UPI PIN is independent of your mobile banking app (and its MPIN). You can have a UPI PIN set up in various UPI apps, each with its own unique PIN.

How do I link my MPIN to UPI?

There is no direct linking between MPIN and UPI PIN. Here is why:

  • Different purposes:
    • MPIN: Grants access to your mobile banking app for various financial activities.
    • UPI PIN: Authorises specific UPI transactions, regardless of the app you are using.

  • Independent creation:
    • MPIN: Set up during mobile banking app installation or through the app's settings.
    • UPI PIN: Created during UPI account setup within the specific app you are using.

In essence, they work together but independently for security:

  • MPIN secures your mobile banking app.
  • UPI PIN authorises specific UPI transactions, even within your mobile banking app if it offers UPI.
