If you prefer an offline update or are unable to upload proof of address (POA) online, you can visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra or an authorised update centre.
Step 1: Visit the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra or designated post office.
Step 2: Fill out the Aadhaar update form with the required details.
Step 3: Submit a valid POA document and complete biometric authentication.
Step 4: Pay the applicable fee of Rs.50.

Documents Required for Aadhaar Card Address Change
To update your Aadhaar address, you must submit a valid Proof of Address (POA). While more than 15 documents are accepted, commonly used options include:
- Passport
- Bank passbook or statement (including Post Office accounts)
- Ration card
- Voter ID
- Disability card
- MGNREGA/NREGS job card
- Recent electricity, water or gas bills (not older than three months)
- Telephone, postpaid mobile or broadband bills (not older than three months)
- Life or health insurance policy
- Property tax receipt (within one year)
- Registered sale deed or gift deed
- Non-registered rent or lease agreement
Along with a POA, you must also provide a valid Proof of Identity (POI) such as a Passport, PAN card, Voter ID, or Ration card.

How to check the status of your Aadhaar address update
After submitting your update request, you’ll receive a Service Request Number (SRN). You can track your application using these steps:
- Go to the UIDAI website.
- Under the ‘My Aadhaar’ section, select ‘Check Aadhaar Update Status’.
- Choose SRN, enter your SRN and captcha, then click Submit.
- The current status of your address update request will appear on the screen.
How to download your Aadhaar card after updating your address
Once your updated Aadhaar is processed, you can download the e-Aadhaar online. Ensure your mobile number is linked to Aadhaar, as OTP authentication is mandatory.
Follow these steps:
- Visit the UIDAI website and open the ‘My Aadhaar’ section.
- Select ‘Download Aadhaar’ under ‘Get Aadhaar’.
- Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha, then click Send OTP.
- Enter the OTP you receive, choose whether you want a masked Aadhaar, and click Verify & Download to get the PDF.
