Purchase process was super seamless, and I am equally pleased with how it drives. Loved it at first glance and brought it home. The standout for me is the value-for-money HX6 automatic variant. I benchmarked many options, yet this one came out on top. Drive remains very smooth, with just a slight initial lag.

I like most of what it offers for the price point: ride comfort, fit and finish, and roomy cabin. I had almost settled on the fronx or punch based on comparisons, but the fronx coupe styling hurt cargo space and Tata's after-sales put me off. Exter felt the most complete for me with a 4 cylinder 1.2 l engine and compact-but-right dimensions. After the facelift, the minor exterior and interior tweaks made it look better, especially the driver's side armrest and the sporty spoiler. With 5 onboard (4 adult 1 child) it stays comfortable, though acceleration feels a bit delayed versus the fronx and puch in similar runs. Still, low cabin noise, space and overall comfort were better among the three, so I picked it. On the flip side, the top manual trim has been watered down. Last year's SX/SXO had a manual, but with the new naming the HX8 lost features I wanted: 1 buildt in gps navigation, 2 dual dashcam front & cabin recording( only front recording in my hx8 manual), 3 adaptive guidelines in reversing mode and drvm button, 4 soft close roof grab handles. Many of these moved to HX10, which is an amt only varient. Also missing a sunglasses holder. Just finished 500kms with my exterior HX8, and it remains a fun-to-drive car.

Ride quality is uncomfortable, the drive feels jerky, and fuel consumption is terrible. I chose it for city use as a small car, and the Khaki color caught my eye. Overall experience is poor. The company should stop selling Exter, and I have already written to the Hyundai company about it.
