Upcoming CNG cars in India with price

The upcoming CNG cars list is currently limited. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift is expected to retain its factory-fitted CNG option, while Skoda and Tata are evaluating CNG powertrains for models such as the Kylaq and Curvv. Renault is also developing a factory-fitted CNG option for its upcoming Bridger SUV.

Some existing cars, including the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Renault Triber and Honda Amaze, already offer government-approved dealer or authorised retrofit CNG solutions. These should be treated separately from upcoming factory-fitted CNG models.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift CNG

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift CNG is expected to continue with the existing 1.2-litre factory-fitted CNG setup. The CNG version produces around 77.5 PS and 98.5 Nm and uses a 5-speed manual gearbox. Its current claimed efficiency is 30.61 km/kg.

Tata Curvv CNG

Tata Motors continues to evaluate a CNG powertrain for the Curvv. The platform was designed to accommodate CNG, and the model could use the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with Tata's twin-cylinder CNG technology. However, Tata has not announced a launch date, mileage or price.

Skoda Kylaq CNG

Skoda is actively evaluating CNG for its 1.0-litre TSI engine. The Kylaq is one of the models being considered, along with the Kushaq and Slavia. Skoda has not yet announced the final power output, transmission options, launch date or pricing for a CNG version. 

Skoda Kushaq CNG

The Kushaq could also receive Skoda's proposed 1.0-litre TSI CNG powertrain because it shares its MQB-A0-IN platform and engine with the Kylaq and Slavia. The project remains under evaluation, so buyers should not treat it as a confirmed launch yet.

Skoda Slavia CNG

The Skoda Slavia is another candidate for the brand's planned CNG strategy. A CNG-compatible version of its 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine is being studied, but there is no confirmed launch timeline, mileage figure or expected variant price at present.

Renault Bridger CNG

The Renault Bridger is expected to launch by late 2027. Renault is developing a new 1.2-litre petrol engine for the compact SUV, and reports indicate that a factory-fitted CNG version is also planned. Final power, efficiency and CNG variant prices remain unconfirmed. 

Nissan Magnite CNG

The Nissan Magnite CNG is not an upcoming model. It is already available with a government-approved retrofit CNG kit. Nissan introduced the kit at an additional cost of Rs. 74,999, with fitment carried out at authorised centres and a 3-year or 1 lakh km kit warranty.

Renault Kiger CNG

The Renault Kiger CNG is also already available through a government-approved retrofit option and should not be listed as an upcoming factory-CNG model. Renault offers the retrofit through its network, making it an existing alternative for buyers seeking lower fuel costs.

Renault Triber CNG

The Renault Triber also offers a government-approved CNG retrofitment option through Renault's network. Renault states that the kit carries a 3-year or 1,00,000 km warranty, whichever comes first. It therefore belongs in the currently available CNG category rather than the upcoming list.

Honda Amaze CNG

The Honda Amaze should not be presented as a confirmed upcoming factory-CNG car. Honda offers a government-approved CNG retrofit option for select Amaze variants through authorised dealers. Final cost and compatibility depend on the eligible petrol variant and applicable kit.

Upcoming CNG cars mileage and running cost comparison

Official mileage figures are unavailable for most CNG models still under evaluation. Therefore, speculative mileage and running-cost figures should be avoided until manufacturers publish certified data.

The Baleno's 30.61 km/kg figure comes from the existing S-CNG powertrain that the facelift is expected to retain. Maruti Suzuki currently lists the Baleno S-CNG at about 30.6 km/kg. Mileage for the other upcoming models remains unavailable until their CNG versions are officially confirmed.

Running cost should be calculated only after official mileage is available because CNG prices differ significantly by city. Using assumed efficiency figures for unlaunched cars can give buyers a misleading comparison.

Renault’s upcoming Bridger compact SUV is expected to receive a factory-fitted CNG option alongside petrol powertrains. The model is expected later in 2027, although Renault has not yet announced final CNG specifications or prices for India.

Upcoming Honda CNG cars

Honda does not currently have a confirmed new factory-CNG launch. Instead, the All-New Amaze already supports a government-approved CNG retrofit through authorised Honda dealers on select variants. Therefore, it should not be listed as a future factory-CNG model.

Upcoming Kia CNG cars

Kia has not announced a confirmed factory-CNG model or launch timeline in India. The next-generation Sonet is expected in 2027, but current reports point to a possible hybrid version later rather than confirming a CNG powertrain.
