An NPS statement is a vital document that records the transactions, contributions, fund allocation, and the overall performance of your NPS account. It provides a detailed summary of your contributions, whether voluntary or mandatory, as well as any withdrawals or transfers made during the year. The statement helps subscribers track their investment, monitor returns, and manage their pension savings efficiently.
The NPS provides three key types of statements — Transaction Statement, Holding Statement, and Voluntary Contribution Statement.
The Transaction Statement records all activities in your account, including contributions, withdrawals, and returns. The Holding Statement shows the balance in your NPS account along with the current value of your investment units.
The Voluntary Contribution Statement captures any additional contributions you make beyond regular deposits. These statements are updated periodically and can also be downloaded anytime, ensuring complete transparency in managing your retirement savings. Moreover, they are useful when claiming tax benefits under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act.
