article1

The National Pension Scheme (NPS) is a cost-effective retirement savings option. While it offers flexibility and growth potential, NPS involves charges such as fund management, administrative fees, and custodian charges. These fees, though minimal, can impact long-term returns, making it essential for investors to understand the fee structure.

Key takeaways:

  • Different payment methods incur varying charges for NPS contributions.
  • UPI and debit card payments are free of service charges.
  • Credit card payments incur a 0.75% charge on the transaction amount.
  • Internet banking may have a fixed service fee depending on the bank.
  • While these charges are small, they can accumulate over multiple transactions and slightly reduce the total investment.
