Plan Details

Home Insurance offers coverage of up to Rs. 5 lakh for just Rs. 199 per annum. You can choose to make the payment from any of the preferred online payment modes.

  • What’s Covered

    Here’s what’s covered under the policy:

  • Coverage against damage, loss and theft

    Get coverage against damage caused to, or the disappearance of items inside your home, in the event of a burglary when you are away on a trip.

  • Financial losses

    Get coverage against financial losses suffered due to damage, disappearance or destruction of the following items in the event of burglary at your residence when you are away on a trip:

          a) Furniture
          b) Clothes
          c) Electronic items
          d) Audio equipment
          e) Money
          f) Cheques

  • What’s not Covered

    Here are some of the exclusions under the plan:

  • Longer travel time

    Losses that occur when your travel time is longer than 31 days.

  • Items not in your home

    Losses to personal effects that you have carried during the trip are not covered under Home Protection While You Are Away Cover.

  • Items not listed under policy coverage

    Losses to any items that are not listed under the policy coverage.

  • Losses due to other events

    Losses that are suffered due to events other than burglary, including but not limited to – fire, smoke, lightning, wind, water, flood, earthquake, volcanic eruption, tidal wave, landslide, hail, or other acts of God.

  • Nuclear, biological or chemical events

    Losses due to or related to a nuclear, biological or chemical event are also not covered in this insurance policy of Home Protection While You Are Away.

Home Protection While You Are Away Cover: Terms and Conditions

Here are some of the terms and conditions of the plan:

Coverage duration
For a covered trip, the coverage commences when you leave your place of residence to commence the trip and will terminate when one of the following events occur, based on whichever occurs first:

    a) The time of return to your place of residence on completion of your trip
    b) The expiry of the policy
    c) In any event

Coverage conditions for travel time
Coverage will not commence more than 24 hours prior to the booked departure time and will cease to exist 24 hours after your actual return time.

Electrical and audio equipment covered
Electrical and audio equipment includes TVs, CD/DVD players, stereo sets, computers, and refrigerators.

Official police report
You must provide an official police report that indicates the incident happened within the covered time frame for the claim to be paid; unless you are legally incapable of doing so.

Claim payment
The claim payment will not be more than the replacement cost of the covered item(s)

How to Apply

Here are the steps to apply for the plan:

  • Click on ‘Buy Now’ button and share your basic details in the online application form
  • Check and confirm your application by entering the OTP received on your mobile number
  • Pay the premium via credit/debit card, UPI, mobile wallet, or any other available online payment mode
  • You will receive the details of your membership via email/WhatsApp

How to Process a Claim

To raise a claim, you can contact the insurer through one of the following ways:

Call on Toll-free number

You must contact us at 1800119966 or provide written intimation within 6 hours of the robbery. You can also contact the 24-hour toll-free call centre on 1800-11-9966* - 1800-266-7780 (*toll-free from MTNL/ BSNL lines only) or 1800-22-9966 (only for senior citizen policy holders).

Write to the insurer on E-mail or SMS

Please intimate the call centre as soon as a claim occurs, for us to offer a prompt and effective assistance. You may also register the claim by sending below details on general.claims@tata-aig.com or sending a SMS on 5616181 as “Claims”

Documentation required at the time of claims

Here’s the tentative list of documents required for processing a claim:
• Duly filled and signed claim form
• Police Report
• Voucher in support of item(s) lost/damaged, destroyed subject (Description, quantity, value and nature of loss).
• Bank statement (In case of loss of money, cheque)
• Any other requirement stated by claim examiner.

• Claim form completion/

You must complete, sign and return the form with the appropriate documents, which include, but are not limited to – claim forms, police reports, demands, notices, and any other documents we may ask you to provide

• Claim form return

You must return the claim form and accompanying documents to us within 3 days of making the original claim

• Documentation

Complete, sign and return the claim form to us with all the following documents, within 3 days of making the original claim:

• Police report

You must also file a police report within 6 hours of discovering the loss to report the incident and obtain the police report
