What is a FASTag Sub Wallet and how does it relate to your FASTag?

FASTag Sub Wallet is a dedicated wallet for FASTag toll payments. This change ensures toll-related funds are kept separate from main wallet balance. It helps reduce confusion, improves visibility of toll spends, and enhances overall payment security. Everyday payments such as shopping, bill payments, and QR transactions will continue as usual. The new FASTag Sub Wallet also aligns with updated operational and regulatory guidelines. By separating toll payments, we ensure smoother processing at toll plazas and better compliance with industry standards.

Interrupted Toll Usage : If your FASTag Sub Wallet has insufficient balance, the toll payment may fail. You shall be required to recharge before crossing the toll plaza. To avoid inconvenience, always maintain sufficient balance, especially before long trips.

From when will the FASTag Sub Wallet go live for Bajaj Finserv users?

The FASTag Sub Wallet will go live from 15th February 2026. From this date onwards, all FASTag related transactions will be processed through the dedicated FASTag Sub Wallet.

1. New FASTag Customers (After 15th Feb 2026)

For all new FASTag customers, the FASTag Sub Wallet will be created automatically at the time of FASTag issuance. No additional steps, approvals, or actions are required from your end.

2.  Existing FASTag Customers (Before 15th Feb 2026)

For existing customers, FASTag Sub Wallet creation will happen in a phased manner. If you recharge your FASTag after the launch date, the FASTag Sub Wallet will be created automatically during the recharge process. Even if you do not recharge, the Sub Wallet will still be created automatically from our end as per timelines decided by Bajaj Finance Limited. At no stage will you be asked to approve, transfer, or manually set up anything. Your existing balance is completely safe, and there is no risk of loss during migration. The entire process is seamless, and system driven.

Role of the FASTag Issuer

FASTag and Sub Wallet – key distinctions

Understanding the differences between the FASTag and Sub Wallet is crucial:

  • FASTag: A physical RFID-enabled tag affixed to your vehicle’s windshield for toll payments.
  • Sub-Wallet: A digital account linked to your FASTag, where funds are stored specifically for toll transactions.

Each component plays a unique role in ensuring seamless toll payments and overall system efficiency.

What Happens to My Existing FASTag Balance?

Existing Wallet balance (up to ₹5,000) will be automatically moved to the FASTag Sub Wallet. Any amount above ₹5,000 will remain in your main wallet. For example, if your Wallet balance is ₹6,500, then ₹5,000 will be transferred to the FASTag Sub Wallet and ₹1,500 will stay in your main wallet. This migration happens securely, and you don’t need to do anything.

Do user need to take any action?

There is no need for a new login, fresh KYC, or manual balance transfer. Everything—from Sub Wallet creation to balance migration—will be taken care by Bajaj Finance Limited and no action is required at customer's end, thereby ensuring a smooth transition without any disruption to your FASTag usage.

How Will FASTag Sub Wallet Work?

All FASTag recharges will be credited directly to your FASTag Sub Wallet. This wallet will be used only for toll payments, and the toll amount will be deducted automatically when you cross a toll plaza. Your main Wallet will continue to work as usual for QR payments, bill payments, shopping, and other services, without any change.

FASTag Sub Wallet: Balance, Recharge, Usage & Refunds

Where Can I See My FASTag Balance?

Your FASTag balance will be clearly displayed in the FASTag section of the Bajaj Pay App. You will also receive SMS or app notifications for every toll deduction, helping you stay informed and in control of your balance.

How Can I Recharge My FASTag Sub Wallet?

You can recharge your FASTag exactly the same way as you do today. There is no change in the recharge process. You can recharge using the FASTag QR code, the Bajaj Pay app, or any third-party FASTag recharge app. All recharges will be credited directly to your FASTag Sub Wallet.

Can I Move Money Back to Main Wallet?

No. FASTag Sub Wallet balance cannot be transferred back to the main wallet, withdrawn to a bank account, or sent to another user. It can be used only for toll payments.
Pro Tip: Recharge only the amount you expect to use for tolls

FASTag Closure / Vehicle Sale / Refund

If you close your FASTag or sell your vehicle, the remaining FASTag Sub Wallet balance will be handled as per existing refund rules. The balance will be moved back to your Bajaj Pay main wallet, which you can use for all regular Bajaj Pay services—excluding FASTag toll payments.
