FD Calculator
-
An FD calculator works out what your deposit will be worth at the end of the tenure, so you don't have to apply the formula yourself. With interest paid at maturity, your interest earns interest every year. With a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annual payout, the interest is paid to you instead. Try different amounts, tenures and payout options to find the mix that suits you, then book your FD online.

How to calculate FD interest? (formulas and examples)
-
Interest paid out (non-cumulative FD) – simple interest:
Interest = P × r × t ÷ 100. Example: Rs. 1,00,000 for 5 years at 7.75%p.a. earns Rs. 38,750 in total, paid to you along the way; you get your Rs. 1,00,000 back at maturity.
Interest at maturity (cumulative FD) – compound interest:
M = P × (1 + r/100)^t, compounded once a year. Example: Rs. 1,00,000 for 5 years at 7.75%p.a. grows to about Rs. 1,45,240 — Rs. 6,490 more than with simple interest.
Monthly interest:
Monthly interest = P × monthly-payout rate ÷ 12. Example: Rs. 5,00,000 at 7.49%p.a. pays about Rs. 3,121 a month.

Frequently asked questions
FD Calculator
How does an FD calculator handle compound interest?
If you choose interest at maturity (cumulative FD), the calculator adds interest to your deposit once a year, so each year's interest earns interest too. If you choose a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annual payout, the interest is paid to you and is not compounded.
Why is my FD maturity amount the same as my principal?
If you chose a non-cumulative FD, your interest was paid to you during the tenure, so only the principal is left to pay at maturity. It can also happen if the FD was closed between 3 and 6 months after booking, when only the principal is returned.
Can I use an FD calculator for different investment scenarios?
Yes. The FD calculator is designed to be flexible—you can adjust the deposit amount, tenure, customer type (regular or senior citizen), and payout option to see how your returns change. It’s a simple way to explore multiple plans and find one that best fits your financial needs.
What is an FD Calculator?
An FD calculator is an online tool that shows how much your fixed deposit will earn. On this page, you choose your age group, deposit amount, tenure and payout option; the calculator applies our current rate and shows your total interest and maturity amount.
How do I use an FD calculator online?
It takes about thirty seconds. Select your customer category (regular investor, i.e. below 60, or senior citizen), then choose between a cumulative or non-cumulative FD. Enter the deposit amount, pick your tenure, and the calculator does the rest — displaying your estimated interest and final maturity amount on the spot.
Can the calculator show tax implications?
Not directly. The calculator shows interest before tax. FD interest is taxed at your slab rate, so in the 30% slab, Rs. 45,240 of interest leaves about Rs. 31,668 after tax (before cess).
Which forms do I submit to avoid TDS?
If your total income is below the taxable limit, submit Form 121 to receive interest without TDS deduction - it replaced the earlier Form 15G/15H from 1 April 2026 under the Income Tax Act, 2025. Submitting it at the beginning of the financial year ensures no TDS is deducted from the first payout onwards.
Can I receive monthly interest on a Bajaj Finance FD?
Yes. You can choose monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annual payouts, or take everything at maturity. Monthly payout rates are 7.49% p.a. for investors below 60 and 7.86%p.a. for senior citizens on 31–60 month deposits. Use the payout comparison in the calculator to see the difference.
What does "maturity amount" mean?
It is the total sum you receive when the FD tenure ends: your original principal plus all interest earned over the deposit period.
What is the difference between cumulative and non-cumulative FDs?
In a cumulative FD, interest compounds over the tenure and is paid out as a lump sum at maturity alongside the principal. In a non-cumulative FD, interest is paid at regular intervals - monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or annually - as you prefer. The choice depends on whether you want steady income now or a larger payout later.
What is the minimum investment for a Bajaj Finance FD?
Rs. 15,000. The rates on this page apply to deposits up to Rs. 3 crore.
What interest rates are available?
Fromw.e.f 07 October, 2026, investors below 60 can earn 6.60% to 7.75% p.a. and senior citizens 6.97% to 8.15% p.a., depending on the tenure and payout option. The highest rates are on 31–60 month deposits with interest at maturity.
What are the minimum and maximum tenures?
Bajaj Finance FDs run from 12 months to 60 months, giving reasonable flexibility depending on your financial horizon.
Is there a penalty for early closure?
Withdrawal in the first 3 months is generally not allowed, except where RBI permits it: deposits up to Rs. 10,000 can be withdrawn in full; for larger deposits, up to 50% of the principal or Rs. 5 lakh (whichever is lower) for urgent needs; and the full principal in case of critical illness — without interest in each case. Between 3 and 6 months, only the principal is returned. After 6 months, interest is paid at 2% p.a. below the rate for the period completed. A loan against your FD (up to 75% of a cumulative deposit) is often the cheaper way to get funds.
What mistakes should I avoid when using the calculator?
The common ones are entering the wrong deposit amount or tenure, selecting the incorrect customer category, and confusing payout modes. None of these are hard to fix, but they will give you inaccurate output if left unchecked. A quick review of the inputs before reading the results takes seconds and saves confusion.
Why does the calculator matter more for large investments?
When the principal is significant, even a modest difference in tenure or rate translates into a meaningful gap in returns. The calculator makes that gap visible before you commit — which is precisely when it is most useful.
How is FD interest calculated using the compound interest formula?
At the monthly-payout rate of 7.49% p.a. (31–60 months, below 60), a Rs. 5 lakh FD pays about Rs. 3,121 a month before TDS. Senior citizens at 7.86% p.a. get about Rs. 3,275 a month. Your full Rs. 5 lakh is returned at maturity.
How much will Rs. 15,000 grow in a Bajaj Finance FD in 5 years?
A Rs. 15,000 FD for 60 months at 7.75%p.a. with interest at maturity grows to about Rs. 21,786 — about Rs. 6,786 of interest. Senior citizens at 8.15%p.a. get about Rs. 22,193. Use the calculator for any amount between Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 3 crore.
How much monthly interest will Rs. 5 lakh give in a Bajaj Finance FD?
At the monthly-payout rate of 7.16% p.a. (31-60 month tenure, customers below 60), a Rs. 5 lakh non-cumulative FD pays approximately Rs. 2,983 per month before TDS. Senior citizens at 7.49% p.a. receive about Rs. 3,120 per month. The full principal is returned at maturity. Monthly-payout rates are slightly lower than the at-maturity rate for the same tenure because interest is paid out instead of compounding.
Which tenure gives the highest FD interest rate at Bajaj Finance?
Tenures of 31 to 60 months carry the highest rates - up to 7.75% p.a. for customers below 60 and up to 8.15% p.a. for senior citizens (rates w.e.f. 07 October 2026).
How much interest will Rs. 1 lakh earn in 1 year?
With interest at maturity, Rs. 1,00,000 for 12 months earns Rs. 6,800 at 6.80% p.a. (Rs. 7,200 at 7.20% p.a. for senior citizens).
What is the effective yield of my FD?
Effective yield is your total interest spread evenly over the tenure. For example, Rs. 1,00,000 at 7.75% p.a. for 5 years, with interest at maturity, earns Rs. 45,240, which is about 9.05% a year on your original deposit. It is higher than the stated rate because of compounding.
Can I book an FD for less than 12 months?
No. Bajaj Finance FDs run from 12 to 60 months, so the calculator accepts tenures in that range only.
Is the calculator result the final amount I will get?
It is an estimate based on our rate on the day you calculate. Once you book, your rate is fixed for the full tenure, and the final maturity amount is shown on your FD receipt. It can differ slightly if the tenure includes a leap year, and it is before TDS.
What will you earn after tax?
FD interest is added to your income and taxed at your slab rate, even in a cumulative FD where you get the interest only at maturity.
Example: Rs. 1,00,000 for 60 months at 7.75% p.a. earns Rs. 45,240 interest. If you are in the 30% tax slab, about Rs. 13,572 goes in tax (before cess), leaving about Rs. 31,668.
For deposits with an NBFC such as Bajaj Finance, TDS is deducted when your FD interest goes above Rs. 10,000 in a financial year. If your total income is below the taxable limit, submit Form 121 to stop TDS.
