The Family ID is an emerging system in India designed to simplify how citizens access government schemes and welfare benefits. It is most prominently implemented in Haryana as the PPP full form — Parivar Pehchan Patra, which acts as a unique identification number for an entire family. Instead of individuals applying separately for schemes, the Family ID links all members under one verified database.
This system captures key details such as income, family structure, occupation, and eligibility criteria. Based on this information, the government can automatically identify beneficiaries for subsidies, pensions, and other services. Similar household-based identification models are also being adopted by other states to improve transparency and reduce paperwork.
