NEET SS exam 2025 eligibility criteria

To appear for NEET SS 2025, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:

Educational qualification: Possess a postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) in a relevant specialty recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or NMC.

Registration: Must have permanent or provisional registration with the NMC or State Medical Council.

Completion date: Must complete the required qualifying degree by September 30, 2025.

Nationality: Indian citizens, OCI/PIOs, and foreign nationals (subject to conditions) are eligible.

No age or attempt limit: Candidates can apply as many times as they qualify.


NEET SS Application Process 2025

The NEET SS 2025 application process opened on 5 November and closed on 25 November 2025, giving candidates 20 days to submit their forms along with the application fee. Candidates were required to register first by providing details such as their name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number. The online application process involved the following steps:

  1. Log in using the registration details.
  2. Complete the application form.
  3. Pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 3,500 via credit card, debit card, or internet banking.
  4. Save a copy and take a printout of the NEET SS 2025 application form for reference.

NEET SS exam 2025 syllabus

The NEET SS syllabus is based on the PG exit level curriculum of the relevant feeder specialty.

-Exam pattern: Two parts per specialty – Part A (40%) and Part B (60%).

-Feeder specialty-based: Candidates can only opt for super specialties based on their qualifying subject.

-No negative marking: One mark for every correct answer; no deduction for incorrect ones.

NEET SS admit card 2025

The NEET SS 2025 admit card will be released on 22 December 2025, four days before the examination. Prior to this, candidates will be informed of their test cities on 12 December 2025.

The admit card will be made available online, and candidates must log in to the account created during registration to download it. It contains personal details and essential information such as the exam date and timing, centre name and address, and important guidelines.

Candidates can download the admit card until the day of the exam. It must be carried to the examination centre, as entry will not be permitted without it. The admit card should also be preserved until the counselling process is complete.

Candidates are required to affix a recent passport-size photograph (minimum 35x45 mm) on the admit card, ensuring that at least 75 per cent of the area is occupied by the face and head. The photograph should be coloured and taken against a white background.

NEET SS result 2025


The NEET SS 2025 result is expected to be announced by 28 January 2026, within a month of the examination. The results will be published in the form of merit lists in PDF format for 15 broad specialities on the official NBE website. Each result will include the candidate’s roll number, total marks out of 600, and the speciality-specific merit position or rank. Candidates must visit the NBE website to check their results. The results will also be shared with the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), DGHS, and MoHFW, the authorities responsible for NEET SS counselling. Scorecards are expected to be available for download from the first week of February 2026.

NEET SS Counselling

 

The NEET SS 2025 counselling process will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The process is entirely online, requiring eligible candidates to register, submit, and lock their choices, based on which seats are allocated.

Candidates must then report to their allotted institutes and pay the admission fee to confirm their seat. If unsatisfied with the initial allocation, they can opt for a seat upgrade. There will be three rounds of NEET SS counselling, with the possibility of additional rounds if seats remain vacant after the final round.
