Agni Green Power Limited was formerly incorporated as 'Agni Power and Electronics Private Limited' on August 25, 1995 under Companies Act, 1956. Subsequently, name of the Company changed to 'Agni Green Power Private Limited' on March 04, 2022. Subsequently, the Company was converted into Public Limited Company, dated April 01, 2022. Presently, Company is engaged in the business of Design & Development, sale and installation of solar photovoltaic power plants, Solar Street Lights, solar power conditioning units and other solar products like charge controller, solar pump controller, solar adaptors, solar generators, junction boxes etc. The Company thrives on providing development support on leading edge technologies for solar power / green power industry. A low cost high quality delivery center helps to retain the competitive advantage while serving clients across the country. In 1991-92, a Partnership Firm in the name of 'Agni Electronics' was formed by some highly skilled technical personnel including Dr. Kanak Mukhopadhyay, in Kolkata to work on renewable source of energy, mainly to serve the vast rural population by harnessing pollution free, eco-friendly non-conventional energy sources. This Partnership Firm continued to work on contract basis, mainly installation and commissioning of SPV projects. In 1995, the Company was incorporated with a motive to takeover M/s. Agni Electronics, an existing profit-making partnership firm engaged in the business of manufacturing solar powered batteries and lighting systems. In 1997, it installed off-grid Solar PV Plant in Sagar Island, in West Bengal. In 2000, the Channel Partner of BHEL, executed cumulative Solar PV Plants in Andaman Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands. In 2005, it opened a Regional Office at Chhattisgarh. It commenced production of Solar PCU with its own indigenous technology. In 2007, a Technological License Agreement was signed between the Company with Magellan Power System, in Australia. In 2011, it opened Regional Office at Mizoram. In 2013, it expanded the Regional Office at Tripura and Assam. In 2015, it executed 500kWp Canal Top Project with 11 kv evacuation. In 2017, it commenced production unit at Srijan Industrial Logistic Park. It executed 1MW Rooftop SPV Plant at IIT, Kharagpur. In 2020, it executed NKDA 1 MW widest Canal Top SPV Plant of India. It also executed 1.1 MW Car Parking SPV Project at IIT, Kharagpur. It commenced the International Export of Power Control Unit (PCU). In July 2022, Company launched an IPO of 52,50,000 Equity Shares of Rs 10 each by raising funds aggregating to Rs 5.25 Cr. During the financial year 2024-25, the R&D division played a crucial role in supporting innovation and addressing technical challenges in alignment with the needs of marketing and project teams. One of the major achievements was the in-house development of the Zero Export Circuit (ZEC), which is designed to prevent the export of solar power to the utility grid when the generated solar energy exceeds the connected load. Additionally, the team undertook the development and modification of 1kW, 2kW, and 6kW off-grid inverters specifically for the SELCO project. Another key milestone was the resolution of a power factor mismatch issue at a 1 MW solar power plant operated by MES. The problem was carefully analysed and resolved by the R&D team, ensuring enhanced operational efficiency and grid compliance for the plant. Another contribution was the design and development of a Domestic Electricity Load Limiter for the Ghoramara Project. This device was created to manage and control household power consumption, to ensure equitable distribution of electricity in areas with constrained power supply.
