You can download your e-Aadhaar by following these five steps through UIDAI's online service.
Step 1: Visit the official UIDAI website
Go to the official UIDAI website and access the Aadhaar download service.
Use the official UIDAI website rather than third-party websites when entering your Aadhaar details or OTP.
UIDAI's website provides a dedicated Download Aadhaar service through its Aadhaar services section.
Step 2: Choose your identification method
Select the identification option available to you on the Aadhaar download page.
UIDAI's Aadhaar Handbook states that you can download e-Aadhaar using your 12-digit Aadhaar number or your 28-digit Enrolment ID (EID).
If you use your EID, keep your enrolment details available because you need to enter the information associated with your enrolment record.
Step 3: Enter your Aadhaar details
Enter the requested identification details and complete the security verification shown on the page.
Check the details carefully before submitting them. An incorrect Aadhaar number or Enrolment ID can prevent you from retrieving the correct document.
If you do not remember your Aadhaar number or EID, UIDAI also provides online services for retrieving a lost UID or EID using your registered mobile number.
Step 4: Complete OTP verification
Request an OTP and enter the verification code sent to your registered mobile number.
Keep your registered mobile phone available during the download process. Do not share your OTP with another person.
If you no longer have access to the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar, you may need to update your mobile number through the applicable UIDAI process before using OTP-based online services.
Step 5: Download and save your e-Aadhaar
After successful verification, download the e-Aadhaar PDF and save it securely on your device.
You can also print the document when you need a physical copy. UIDAI states that the e-Aadhaar is a digitally signed electronic document and is treated on par with the printed Aadhaar letter.
Keep the downloaded file in a secure location because it contains your personal identification information.
