  1. Design
motorola has been following a set design language for years. The brand has not deviated from it for this model. moto g52 is simple and understated, though it is slimmer (7.99mm) than its predecessors. Made of a full plastic body, the phone does not feel heavy in the hand. It has a glossy finish on the back cover with three cameras fitted at the top left vertically.
The front camera is at the centre of the screen. The camera stand is oval-shaped and does not protrude much. The sides are flat and provide a good grip. However, the glossy finish on the back is susceptible to fingerprints and smudges. moto g52 looks better in Charcoal Grey as it gives the impression of an expensive model.
  2. Display and storage
The smartphone boasts a 6.6-inch display with an FHD+ OLED screen. It has a refresh rate of 90Hz. The display is worth mentioning, with crisp colours and output. Using the phone in direct sunlight is easy, too, as the screen is visible even under the afternoon bright light. The fingerprint scanner is mounted on the side, allowing users to unlock the phone single-handedly. The volume keys are also easy to access. The bottom panel has a USB Type-C slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack slot.
moto g52 has two storage options. The 4GB RAM model comes with 64GB internal storage, and the 6GB RAM model has 128GB storage. Moreover, there is a microSD slot that allows extended external storage up to 1TB. The SIM tray is on the left side panel and doubles as a memory card slot.
  3. Battery life and Operating System
The 5000 mAh battery is one of the key features of moto g52. The battery can last a day and a half with moderate use and about a day with heavy use. The phone’s box contains motorola’s 33W TurboPower charger. It is ideal to use this charger to fast-charge the phone. It charges 50% in thirty minutes and 90%+ in an hour.
The default Android 12 OS can be updated to Android 13. The company promises three years of security updates. The interface is the standard motorola MyUX with customisation options to suit user preferences.
  4. Camera experience
The smartphone has a triple rear cameras of a 50 MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. The primary camera delivers decent results in natural outdoor light. The wide-lens camera is not great, though. The macro sensor works better in daylight than indoors. While the portraits are good, the lowlight pictures are decent only when the night mode is on. This results in a slight lag. The close-up pictures have good depth when clicked outdoors.
  5. Performance and network
The combination of Dolby Atmos and Snapdragon Sound makes the speakers loud and clear. The phone is good for watching videos, movies, etc., and playing games. That said, it has pre-installed apps that occupy the memory space and cannot be removed. While there is no 5G option for this model, the phone has reliable 4G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity options. It is a worthy choice for the price.
