National Health Authority (NHA) – An overview
The National Health Authority (NHA) is the governing body responsible for executing India’s primary public health insurance program, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY). Additionally, it has been tasked with developing strategies, constructing technological frameworks, and executing the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission to establish a nationwide digital health ecosystem. NHA spearheads the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) in collaboration with various ministries/ departments of the government of India, state governments, and private sector/ civil society entities.
