realme has once again entered the mid-range segment with realme 10 Pro 5G. Launched in November 2022, this realme phone has significant upgrades from its predecessor. This model is indeed the most aesthetically pleasing device under Rs. 20,000. The realme 10 Pro uses a 108MP primary shooter, similar to realme 10 Pro Plus. While the features and specifications look promising, reviewing them based on performance and usage is important.

realme 10 Pro hardware and design
At first glance, the realme 10 Pro’s 1 mm razor-thin bezels catch your attention. The width of these bezels is even less than that of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. For this model, realme has picked a rectangular body with no curvature of any kind.
With a plastic body, the matte back cover looks good and does not attract fingerprints. It has a headphone jack at the bottom, along with cutouts for the speaker grille, microphone, and USB-C charging port. On the left-hand side, you can see the dual-SIM/ microSD card tray slot. The power bottom/ fingerprint sensor and the volume rocker are on the right-hand rail. Additionally, it also has a circular hole for the second microphone on the top.
Talking about the design, the Hyperspace variant has an aesthetically pleasing pattern, creating a dynamic three-dimensional effect. The best part is that the pattern also changes as you change the angle.
At 192 g, the realme 10 Pro is reasonably light as well. However, it is a little thicker than other models, with a depth of 8.3mm; thus, the grip can be a little uncomfortable for some.
realme 10 Pro camera setup and capabilities
The realme 10 Pro camera setup is mostly a hit-and-miss. Ditching the quad-rear camera setup of its predecessors, this smartphone has a dual camera with a 108MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor.
The daylight shots are good, with rich details, acceptable levels of contrast, and colours that are not too saturated. The sensor offers plenty of dynamic range as well. However, the sensor tends to suffer a lot when there is low light or nighttime. The pictures lack detail and sharpness in auto Night mode. You can use manual night mode for better results, but the colour reproduction will appear artificial.
There is an option for 3X zoom; however, it is just digital zoom. In night mode, you only get 2X zoom.
The selfies captured by the 16MP front camera are okay, but the details and sharpness are not excellent overall. They also appear artificial, with an added white tint. Portrait Mode is also not worthy, especially when the subject has some depth.
Both the front and rear cameras can shoot videos at 1080@30fps, as the Snapdragon 695 only supports up to 1080p.

realme 10 pro: Highlighting the screen size, resolution, and quality
realme has made the 6.72-inch 120Hz FHD+ boundless display the centrepiece of this device. With a 1mm-tiny side and top bezels, and a slightly large button chin, the phone comes with a 93.76% screen-to-body ratio. The screen looks large enough while watching videos or playing games.
Thanks to the ultra-fast 120Hz refresh rate and ultra-smooth 240Hz touch, you can experience unparalleled comfort when scrolling on apps, switching from one app to another, and gaming. If you keep the display still for longer, the refresh rate tones down to 60Hz. It has a peak brightness of 600 nits; thus, you can use it comfortably in broad daylight as well.
While the display is satisfactory overall, the only significant drawback is that it is not AMOLED.
realme 10 Pro’s display offers punchy colours and good contrasts but lacks the blacks of an AMOLED display. However, it is still one of the best IPS LCD screens. Since it has an IPS display, you will not get HDR support. However, the brand has used Widevine L1 so that you can consume quality content.

Power-packed performance
realme 10 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 695 5G chipset. It is a decent processor for everyday usage but not a gaming processor. You can enjoy a little bit of gaming now and then, but the phone gets heated after 30 minutes of continuous gameplay.
Under the hood, realme 10 Pro has 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Like other models, you get the dynamic RAM feature and up to 1TB storage expansion via a microSD card. Thus, you can manage day-to-day tasks efficiently, including multitasking between apps, web browsing, and streaming HD videos.
If you are not a heavy user, you can use this phone for more than a day without hassle. The 5000 mAh battery offers 639 hours of standby time and is well-optimised for longer use. The charging speed is not blazing fast, but it is still decent. It takes about an hour and 10 minutes to get to full charge.

Final verdict
Priced at Rs. 18,999, realme 10 Pro pretty much seems like a rebrand of the realme 9 Pro 5G with just an improved design. It has a decent processor, polycarbonate body, LCD instead of AMOLED, and average camera quality.
If you are looking for sturdy hardware, innovative design, an amazing bezel-less display, and long battery life, realme 10 Pro is capable of catering to your needs. It offers decent performance, but it is not a gaming phone. In case you want a gaming smartphone, realme 9 SE 5G will be a better choice under the same budget.
