Buying experience: Showroom team was courteous and helpful. Paperwork and finance were wrapped up quickly. Delivery happened as scheduled with hardly any wait. Riding experience: Easy to thread through city traffic. Feels composed on the highway at speed. Comfortable ergonomics. Suspension and braking deal with bumps effectively. Looks and performance: Sporty, aggressive styling. Engine feels refined with very little vibration. Crisp throttle response with quick pickup. Delivers excellent mileage. Servicing and maintenance: Routine service costs are pocket friendly. Spares are easy to source. Service centres have professional mechanics. Pros and cons: Pros: Sporty looks, great fuel economy, digital console. Cons: Rear suspension is on the stiffer side, headlight throw is weak. Maintenance tips: Clean and lube the chain every 500 km. Check tyre pressure weekly for better mileage. Change engine oil at regular intervals.

To be frank, this bike is extremely dependable. Fill petrol and change the engine oil and it will go anywhere. I don't have this level of confidence in the new BS6 Splendor I own, Hero Honda Splendor. The only letdown is speed, and there isn’t much scope to tune it for extra performance, though it was never meant for speed. If you want: smooth reliable mileage this is for you. You can also adjust the handlebar height a little if you prefer, it looks good.

The Hero Splendor Plus is easily the most dependable daily commuter in India. My purchase at the dealership was smooth and completely hassle free. In stop-go city traffic it feels composed and easy to handle. The engine is very refined and consistently returns around 60-65 kmpl, so running costs stay very low. Its light build lets me weave through heavy traffic effortlessly. Pros: excellent fuel efficiency with proven long term engine reliability; low upkeep and spare parts are available almost everywhere; seating stays comfortable for family use; strong resale value in the Indian market. Cons: plain styling with limited modern tech; lacks high speed stability for highway runs. Maintenance tip: change engine oil every 3000 km and keep the tyre pressure spot on to maximise mileage and enhance engine life.
