Rajeev was earlier with American International Group as a Deputy CEO of its Consumer Finance business. At AIG, he was responsible for building the strategic framework for AIG Consumer business entry in India, created a holding company and acquired two non-banking finance companies to establish a base for AIG in the Indian market.
Before that, he was with American Express where he spent more than eight years. During this period he did various roles across various products like credit cards, personal and business loans etc. At the time of leaving American Express, he was the Head of Personal and Small Business Lending in India.Rajeev is a Management graduate from T A Pai Management Institute, Manipal with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce
Rakesh Bhatt is responsible for leading a large portfolio of critical functions at the firm namely Technology, Operations, Customer Experience and Quality.
Rakesh is the person behind the host of technology innovations at the firm, harnessing the power of technology to create sustainable competitive advantage for us. He has practiced this penchant for innovation even in the way he has integrated multiple system with state of the art capabilities to suite our Business model. He manages the complete Operations landscape across all Branches and Centralized Operations, and was responsible to create a strategic BPO relationship. He is also responsible for introducing a slew of initiatives in Customer Experience, redefining how customers look at service in this category using Quality tools and methodology.
Rakesh joined us from AIG where he was the Vice President and Head of Technology. In his rich experience spanning over 20 years, he has held leadership positions at GE Money, Reliance Industries and 3i Infotech.
An MBA in Finance, Atul has over nineteen years of rich work experience in the financial sector. Atul started his career in Investment Banking, post which he was practicing as an independent financial consultant, engaged in debt syndications and capital structuring.
Atul manages the Collections vertical with us. He joined us 9 years back and has been the key driver in the collections vertical since the last 5 years. Atul and his team passionately work to ensure the loan losses are within the budgeted product profitability matrix and prefer engagement with customer rather than confront. Collections in BFL are highly driven by use of advanced analytics and customer friendly non privacy intrusive methods to collect.
Executive Vice President and Group Business Head–SME Business
Deepak Bagati is responsible for managing and growing SME business verticals like Business Loans, Loans against Property, Professional Business, Self-employed Home Loans, Developer Finance, and Relationship Management Business.
Since joining Bajaj, Deepak has integrated SME businesses to create Direct to Customer (D2C) businesses for SME. He has been key contributor in delivering cutting edge capabilities like Decision Support System for unsecured businesses & Mortgage Reengineering for secured business.
Deepak has extensive work experience in the services industry spread across printing solutions, reprographics, rating firms, supply chain management and lending. He joined us from Yes bank where he was the Zonal head for the unsecured business. Prior to which he has worked with HDFC bank, ONICRA, Mahindra & Mahindra and Modi Xerox.
Deepak is an Engineering graduate with a degree in Industrial Electronics.
Senior Vice President and Group Business Head–Relationships
Ashish Sapra leads the Relationship’s business at Bajaj Finance Ltd. Given the company’s commitment to invest in building a relationships roadmap for the organization, this business assumes critical importance for us.
Ashish has been with the organization for more than 7 years and has shown true mettle and leadership in setting & building up the cross sell business from scratch to a 50 MM$ PBT business for the organization, which he was managing prior to moving in this role.
Ashish comes with an extensive experience of 18 years and joined us from American Express where he was National Sales Manager, corporate sales for the Consumer Cards business. Before American Express, Ashish worked with HSBC.
Ashish is a Post Graduate and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and has done his AMP from INSEAD.
Bharath is the Chief Risk Officer and also heads the Horizontal Center of Excellence for Analytics that was set up in the company in 2014. As CRO, Bharath is tasked with overseeing the portfolio performance across all of BFL’s lines of business and ensure that they deliver the target Risk-Return thresholds. He is also responsible for setting up the Market Risk and Operational Risk processes at BFL. As the head of the Center of Excellence for Analytics, he is helping create a horizontal platform that delivers Analytics across Risk, Marketing and Service domains.
Bharath was earlier with Standard Chartered Bank, based in Dubai and was the Head of Credit Policy and Risk Analytics for the Middle East. In addition, he was the Head of the Portfolio Management unit of the Consumer Bank for South Asia, Middle East and Africa. During his tenure with SCB, he helped create an analytic approach to Risk-Return assessments of portfolios and delivered strategies and segmentations that helped many portfolios come out of crises of preceding years.
Before that, he was with Capital One in the US where he held many roles including co-heading the central Analytics Excellence unit, Head of Risk for the Unsecured Loans portfolio and product strategy roles across small business and retail portfolios, Credit Cards and Personal Loans.
Bharath has a management degree from IIM Bangalore and a B Tech from IIT Madras.
Senior Vice President and Group Business Head–Commercial Business
Diwakar is Senior Vice President for Commercial Lending Segment covering Auto Components, Light Engg, Financial Institutions Group, Loans Against Securities & Structured Transactions. In his prior role at BFL, Diwakar was heading the Underwriting function across all non-retail businesses.
Diwakar joined us from Citigroup where he was managing risk and credit for West & South India regions for the Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) business. He has spent the last 15 years in Risk Management. Prior to Citigroup, he worked with ICICI and Tata Steel.
Diwakar is a Post Graduate in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
Chief – Human Resources, Administration and Group Learning Academy
Deepak heads the HR and Administration teams, with the mandate to sustain and enable the high performance journey we have embarked upon with appropriate people and work place initiatives. He also leads the Group Learning Academy and is responsible for all learning activities within the organization. Before taking up this mantle, he has successfully led the Mortgages business, Loan Against Shares portfolio as well as the HR function. Deepak is a people’s person and has led the company to become one of the most preferred employers in the BFSI sector. In his earlier role, he has also led the Business Loans portfolio to become a benchmark of success for the company.
Deepak joined us from American Express wherein he was Director - Sales (Consumer Cards). During his 9 years at American Express, he held various positions in the Personal Loans and Consumer Card business. Prior to American Express, Deepak has worked with Standard Chartered in the Auto Loans division.
Sandeep is the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Business Re-engineering and Investor Relations. He joined Bajaj Finance in 2008 & since then has been an integral part of the company’s growth & evolution journey from a mono-line Auto Finance company to a diversified financial services business. Between 2006 - 2008, he was a part of the Internal Audit team at Bajaj Auto handling audits in the area of materials, system, finance & indirect tax. He joined Bajaj Finance in the management accounting unit and since then has played various roles in the company that include FP&A, Strategic Planning, Executive Assistant to CEO, Investor Engagement & Head of Management accounting unit. In his current role as Head CFO and Business Head for Business Re-engineering & Investor Relations, he is responsible for improving business & functional processes with a sharp focus on straight through processes & bottom line benefits.
Sandeep is a rank holder Chartered Accountant from ICAI with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from Nagpur University.
M M Muralidharan is responsible for the overall treasury strategy, policy, fund planning and mobilization, SLR and Non-SLR investments, working capital management and optimization of overall cost of fund at the entity level. He manages the entire resourcing for the company encompassing borrowings from Banks and Money markets as also the assignment/securitization portfolio. He is responsible for entire investments of the company in SLR and non-SLR portfolio of investments including liquidity buffer. His experience in this field adds immense value to the business. Prior to taking charge of Treasury function Muralidharan was heading finance and direct & indirect taxation function of Bajaj Finance Limited from 1998 to 2006.
Muralidharan joined us in 1996 from Indian Seamless Steels and Alloys Limited, Pune (ISSAL) where he was working in finance department. In his earlier role he worked as head of Costing department of ACC Babcock Limited, at its Heavy Engineering Plant in Karnataka.
With a career that spans over 28 years, Pankaj Thadani brings to the table a rich perspective to the business, mature advice to the team and leadership to the function to make sure we always stay ahead of the curve. Through his efforts, he has made sure the firm achieves the strategic objective of profitable and sustainable growth.
Pankaj joined us from Corporate Database - an equity research firm. Prior to that, Pankaj has worked in Bajaj Auto Ltd, Eicher and Mico Bosch in leadership roles. Before moving into the role of managing the compliance mandate, Pankaj was associated with us in the capacity of Chief Finance Officer.
Pankaj is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics.
Vivek Likhite was previously the Chief Credit & Operations Officer of the Company. Vivek lead the firm’s strategic plan of setting up and outsourcing the Operations and Service function. He also played a pivotal role in IT platform migration to give the Company technology edge.
Vivek joined us from Tata Motor Finance. Vivek has rich experience spanning over 20 years in strategic planning, process management, operations re-engineering, information technology, management accounting and budgeting. Before Tata Motor Finance, Vivek spent over 8 years with Larsen & Toubro Ltd. And over 4 years with Rallies India Limited.
Vivek is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a degree in Cost Accountancy from ICWAI. He is Commerce graduate and a Law graduate of Bombay University.
