HDFC Life Sampoorn Samridhi Plus Insurance Plan is a non-linked participating life insurance policy. With this plan, a policyholder can choose from the two options of endowment, and endowment with whole life cover (till 100 years). This plan gives you extra control over your savings and investments, so you don’t have to liquidate your savings, in the event of any unforeseen circumstances.

 

Key Features and Benefits


The key features covered under the HDFC Life Sampoorn Samridhi Plus Insurance Plan are as follows:

  • Guaranteed Additions:

    The plan provides additional boosters in the form of guaranteed additions, provided the policy is in force. This is payable at maturity or death, whichever is earlier. The rate of guaranteed additions will depend upon the policy term and will accrue during the first 5 years of the policy.

  • Bonuses:

    This plan offers two types of bonus:

  • • Reversionary bonus

    A simple reversionary bonus would be declared at the end of each financial year. This will be expressed as a percentage of the “sum assured on maturity”. Once added to the policy, the bonus is guaranteed to be payable on maturity or death, provided all due premiums are paid.

  • •Terminal bonus

    This will be payable as a lump sum at the end of the policy term. As the terminal bonus depends on the actual future experience, it is not a guaranteed benefit.

  • Death coverage

    In the event of the death of the insured during the policy term, the nominee in the policy can receive an amount as per the calculation below:
    • Sum assured on death + accrued guaranteed additions + accrued reversionary bonuses + interim bonus (if any) + terminal bonus (if any)
    • 105% of premiums paid to date.

  • Accidental death coverage:

    In the event of the accidental death of an insured individual, the family receives an additional sum equal to sum assured on death. This amount is payable provided the life assured is aged 18 years and above on the date of death. The policy covers accidental death, which is caused within 180 days of any bodily injury.

  • Policy loan:

    The insured can avail loan under the policy, provided the policy has acquired a surrender value. The policyholder must abide by the current terms and conditions stated below:
    • The policyholder should be at least 18 years of age at the time of requesting the loan.
    • The loan amount will be subject to a maximum of 80% of the surrender value.
    • The interest rate on loan is 10.5% p.a.

  • Grace period:

    This plan has a grace period of 30 days for yearly, half-yearly and quarterly frequencies from the premium due date. The grace period for the monthly frequency of premium payment is 15 days from the premium due date.

  • Tax benefit:

    The policyholder enjoys the tax-benefit under section 80C of the Income Tax Act as per the prevailing tax laws.

The HDFC Life Sampoorn Samridhi Plus is a non-linked “with profit” life insurance policy, where the premium needs to be paid for a limited period. The policyholder has a choice to opt for endowment or endowment with whole life option (till age 100 years). The plan offers lumpsum payment at the end of the policy term and life cover throughout the policy. The plans are available starting from Rs. 1,000 including all taxes, with maximum coverage subject to Board, Approved Underwriting Policy (BAUP).

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the HDFC Life Sampoorn Samridhi Plus are as follows:
• Eligibility (minimum and maximum age): 30 years and 60 years
• Maturity (minimum and maximum age): 18 years and 75 years

How to purchase the policy

  • To apply for the HDFC Life Sampoorn Samridhi Plus Insurance, click on the “Apply Now” button and fill in your basic and health details. Our representative will contact the insured to provide further assistance.
  • Ensure that the information given in the form is complete and accurate.
  • The insured may be required to undergo a pre-policy medical examination at the insurer’s network diagnostic centres.

  • Income proof such as Form 16, salary slips, employment certificate etc.
  • Address proof such as telephone bill, electricity bill, passport, bank statement, voter’s ID, etc.
  • Medical test that the insurer requires you to undergo.

How to process the claim

Cashless Claims
Documents needed to process cashless claim:
With the HDFC Life Sampoorn Samridhi Plus Plan, you can avail the benefit of cashless treatment with the insurer’s network hospitals anywhere in the country. The procedure to file a claim is as follows:

  • First, search for an HDFC network hospital in the city where you want to get cashless treatment.
  • Intimate the insurer within 48 hours (emergency hospitalisation) and 3 days before admission in case of planned hospitalisation.
  • While visiting the hospital, carry the patient’s insurance cashless card or the policy details.
  • Show the health insurance cashless card and valid ID proof at the insurance desk of the hospital.
  • Fill in the pre-authorisation request form correctly available at the hospital and submit it to the hospital.
  • For quicker action, fill the request form on the official website and intimate the insurer. Wait for the decision as your request will be reviewed.
  • The insurer may take up to 2 hours after receiving the request and will inform about the decision via an e-mail and an SMS.
  • You can also check the status online on https://www.hdfclife.com/. The claim will be processed as per the terms and conditions of the policy after all the formalities are completed.

Reimbursement Claims:

Documents needed to process reimbursement claim

  • In case of an emergency admission, you need to notify the insurer within 48 hours and pay the charges to the hospital directly unless a pre-authorisation has been issued by us.
  • Collection and submission of claim documents send the list of the documents mentioned below within 15 days of discharge from the hospital.
  • After reviewing the documents, the insurer will approve or reject the same as per the terms and policy.
  • If the request is approved, the insurer will send the reimbursement amount via NEFT to your registered bank account.
  • If the request is rejected, the same will be communicated to your registered contact phone number and email id.

Collect below mentioned relevant document in original form from the hospital and submit them to the insurer:
• Claim form duly filled & signed by you/life insured.
• Hospitalisation discharge card/summary.
• Hospital invoice(s) (summary and itemised invoices) and corresponding payment receipts.
• Surgical summary (in case the life assured has undergone a surgery).
• All supporting diagnostic reports and prescriptions.
• All pharmacy receipts and corresponding prescriptions.
• Ambulance invoice if applicable.
• Self-attested copies of the following documents:
i. Health card or policy document
ii. ID proof (PAN card, Aadhar card, passport, driving license, voter’s identity card, bank passbook/statement).
iii. In case of cashless claims, ID proof should contain the photograph of the ID card holder.
iv. It would be preferable to provide NEFT details and supporting documents (cancelled cheque/bank passbook/statement) at the time of claim registration.

Major Policy Exclusions

Some of the key policy exclusions are as follows:

  • Death due to suicide, within 12 months
  • From the date of inception of the policy, the nominee of the policyholder shall be entitled to 80% of the premiums paid, provided the policy is in force.
  • From the date of revival of the policy, the nominee of the policyholder shall be entitled to an amount which is higher of 80% of the premiums paid till the date of death or the surrender value as available on the date of death.

Accidental Death Benefit Exclusions:
• Intentionally self‐inflicted injury or suicide, irrespective of mental condition.
• Alcohol or solvent abuse, or the taking of drugs except under the direction of a registered medical practitioner.
• War, invasion, hostilities (whether war is declared or not), civil war, rebellion, revolution or taking part in a riot or civil commotion.
• Taking part in any flying activity, other than as a passenger in a commercially licensed aircraft
Taking part in any act of a criminal nature with criminal intent.
