Eligibility: You are eligible for the Cost of Support Items Cover if you are between 18 and 65, as on your last birthday.
Validity: 1 year
If the policyholder suffers from an illness or injury from an accident covered under the policy and is prescribed support by a medical practitioner, the sum insured will be paid as per the policy schedule. The event must occur during the policy year.

The cover is available after continuous hospitalisation for 48 hours.
Waiting period
The initial waiting period for the Cost of Support Items Plan is 30 days. The specific illness waiting period is 2 years.
Waiting period for specific diseases and procedures
A waiting period from the date of inception specified in the policy schedule or insurance certificate shall be considered for any treatments, medical or surgical expenses, or other complications resulting during treatment. The waiting periods shall apply to the following diseases as per the durations mentioned in the policy schedule or insurance certificate:
If these diseases are pre-existing at the time of the proposal or subsequently found to be pre-existing, the pre-existing disease waiting periods as mentioned in the policy schedule or certificate of insurance shall apply.
