D. J. Balaji Rao (born December 15, 1939), is a mechanical engineer from the University of Madras and holds a postgraduate diploma in industrial engineering from Bombay University. He attended the advanced management programme at the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD) at Fountainbleu, France, in 1990.

D. J. Balaji Rao has served with distinction on the boards of many AAA rated companies, including Ashok Leyland, MICO, Wipro and Bharat Forge.

Rahul Bajaj (born June 10, 1938) is a Graduate in Economics (Honours) and Law and did his MBA from Harvard Business School. He took charge of the erstwhile Bajaj Auto as the Chief Executive Officer in 1968 when the company’s annual turnover was over Rs. 72 million. In 2007-08, the Company's annual turnover was over Rs. 100 billion (US$ 2.45 billion). Today Bajaj Auto is India's premier two and three-wheeler company.

Under Mr. Bajaj’s leadership, Bajaj Auto has received various awards including the 1977 Export Award from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the 1985 Economic Times and Harvard Business School Association Award for Corporate Performance, the CII Award for Quality and Reliability in 1984 and 1988, and for Technology and Innovation in 1985. For the year 1994-95, Bajaj Auto received the Engineering Export Promotion Council’s award for the highest exports of consumer durables nationally and the highest exports of engineering goods in the western region. Bajaj Auto received Dalal Street Journal's Corporate Excellence Award for 1990 and 1995 (Rank I).

Post demerger of the company, Bajaj continues to act as the non-executive Chairman. The Group manufactures and markets a range of products and services in India and abroad, including two and three wheelers, home appliances, lamps, wind energy, special alloy and stainless steel, castings, cranes, forgings, infrastructure development, material handling equipment, travel, general and life insurance, and investment and financial services.
