Sanjiv Bajaj
Chairman and Managing Director
Sanjiv Bajaj is the Chairman and Managing Director of Bajaj Finserv Limited, the holding group company for all the financial service businesses of the Bajaj Group, which is one of the oldest and largest conglomerates of India. Bajaj Finserv consisting of lending and insurance companies has annual revenues of over $ 9.18 billion for FY22.
Under his leadership, Bajaj Finserv has emerged as one of India’s leading diversified financial services companies with solutions across lending, life insurance, general insurance, and wealth advisory category. With a consumer-first, digital approach and a culture focused on excellence through innovative disruption, Sanjiv is known for pioneering digital consumer financing in India which helped transform the entire landscape of the financial services space.
He is the President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for 2022-23. Sanjiv has been engaged with CII for many years at the State, Regional and National level. He was the President-Designate of CII for 2021-22 and the Chairman of the Western Region during 2019-20. He has led CII National Committees on Insurance & Pensions and CII Taskforce on Fintech. He is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School, USA and a Member of the Board of Indian School of Business (ISB), Member of the International Advisory Board (IAB), Allianz SE and the International Technology Advisory Panel (ITAP) of Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and Regional Stewardship Board for India and South Asia 2019-2020 of the World Economic Forum. He has several awards to his credit including AIMA’s Managing India Award’s Entrepreneur of the year 2019, ET’s Business Leader of the year 2018, Financial Express’ Best Banker of the year 2017-18, Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the year in 2017 and Transformational Leader award at the 5th Asia Business Responsibility Summit in 2017. He is also a recipient of the Business World’s Most Valuable CEOs in India for 2015 & 2016.
Sanjiv is on the board of his group operating companies as the Chairman of Bajaj Finance Ltd., Maharashtra Scooters Ltd., Bajaj Finserv Asset Management Limited and the two insurance subsidiaries i.e. Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Ltd., and Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Ltd. Since 2012, he is the Managing Director of Bajaj Holdings & Investment Ltd. He is the former Executive Director of Bajaj Auto Ltd., and presently its non-executive director.
Sanjiv has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (first class with distinction) from the University of Pune, a master’s degree in manufacturing systems engineering with a distinction from the University of Warwick, UK and a master’s degree in business administration (with distinction) from the Harvard Business School, USA. He lives in Pune, with his wife Shefali and their two children.
S. Sreenivasan
Chief Financial Officer
S. Sreenivasan is the President (Finance) at Bajaj Finserv and has held the role since September 2011. He has also been the Chief Financial Officer at Bajaj Allianz General Insurance (November 2003 to August 2010) and the Assistant Manager (Finance) for Bajaj Auto (June 1986 – July 1989). Sreenivasan's non-Bajaj involvements have been with Greshma Shares and Stocks as Managing Director; Bahrain National Holding Company as Assistant General Manager; Bahrain Insurance Company as Assistant General Manager and priorly as Manager (Finance and Investments); and Thermax DeVilbiss as Associate Manager (Finance).
With a rich experience in management and board matters, Sreenivasan has delved into general management responsibilities of strategy and operations. He is a Regular member of the CFA Institute, Virginia, USA; an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India; and a Graduate Member of the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the CFA Institute, Virginia. Sreenivasan completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), an MBA programme of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. His Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification has been attained from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and Cost and Works Accountant (Grad. CWA) from the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India. Sreenivasan has a BSc. (Physics Main with Mathematics and Statistics subsidiaries) degree from the University of Kerala.
V Rajagopalan
President Legal & Taxation
V. Rajagopalan has held the position of Vice President (Legal) of Bajaj Finserv Ltd. since 1st January 2009 and is spearheading the new business initiatives for the Group in financial services.
He is responsible for acquisitions structuring initiatives besides treasury, regulatory and legal oversight at the corporate level for the Group's financial services businesses in his present role.
Ranjit Gupta
President – Insurance
Ranjit Gupta started in Bajaj Auto Ltd. as General Manager (Co-ordination) in 1988 and moved on to become Vice President (Materials) in 1995 and Vice President (Insurance) in 2001. Ranjit was honoured with a fellowship from the Institution of Engineering & Technology, London, UK and was later inducted as a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in London, UK.
Ganesh Mohan
Chief Executive Officer – Bajaj Finserv Asset Management Limited
Ganesh Mohan is the Chief Executive Officer of Bajaj Finserv Asset Management Limited and also provides overall strategic direction and leadership to ensure alignment of the Group's strategy and growth trajectory. Ganesh joined Bajaj Finserv in 2015 as the Group Head of Strategy. He has been instrumental in shaping and monitoring our group strategy and has led many transformational projects for the Group. In addition, Ganesh has been involved in fostering innovation, building new capabilities for the Group, and scanning the financial services landscape both in India and across the globe for future opportunities.
Before joining Bajaj Finserv, Ganesh was a Partner with the Boston Consulting Group & worked with them for 16 years. He worked with them in the US, Europe, Middle East and India and was primarily affiliated with the Financial Services and Organization practices. Ganesh holds a B.Tech (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and an MBA from IIM Calcutta in Finance and Strategy. In his spare time, Ganesh loves to listen to Indian classical music and go trekking in the mountains with his triplets.
Ajay Sathe
Group Head – Customer Experience & CSR
Ajay Sathe joined Bajaj Auto Ltd. in 1997 and moved to Bajaj Finserv Ltd. in 2007. post the demerger of erstwhile Bajaj Auto. He also oversees the CSR activities of Bajaj Finserv and its subsidiaries. He is currently driving significant strategic CSR projects in health, child welfare and employability.
He is a commerce graduate from Pune University and a graduate of India's Institute of Cost Accountants of India. He completed an International MBA from ESMT Berlin, Germany, where he graduated with honours winning the Academic Performance Prize awarded for the most outstanding academic performance during the program. Ajay is also an associate member of India's Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Rajeev Jain
Managing Director – Bajaj Finance Limited
Rajeev Jain joined Bajaj Finance as Chief Executive Officer in 2007 and was elevated to Managing Director in 2015. Under his leadership, the Company has attained exponential growth, making it one of India's most diversified and fastest-growing non-banking institutions. With over 26 years of experience in financial services, banking and wealth management, Rajeev is an industry veteran and has earned various accolades, including India's Best CEO (NBFC category) by Business Today. Rajeev holds an MBA from T. A. Pai Management Institute and is also a member of the Governing Council there. Before Bajaj Finance Ltd., Rajeev was with American International Group as a Deputy CEO of its Consumer Finance business. At AIG, he was responsible for building the strategic framework for AIG Consumer business entry in India, creating a holding company, and acquiring two non-banking finance companies.
Tapan Singhel
Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer - Bajaj Allianz General Insurance
Tapan Singhel is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company. One of the founding members of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, he has been with the organisation since its inception in 2001 and leads its overall growth strategy. A veteran in the BFSI sector, Tapan has spearheaded several transformational initiatives in the insurance industry and has been instrumental in setting up and fortifying the bancassurance relationship of the Company in the Asia-Pacific region.
Tapan started his career as a direct officer in 1991 with the New India Assurance Company. He has handled diverse portfolios in Accounts, IT, Underwriting, Claims, Marketing, and Sales.
Tapan is a master’s in Physics with a specialisation in Lasers and Spectroscopy from the prestigious Banaras Hindu University (BHU). He has done his schooling from La Martiniere for Boys, Kolkata and St. Peters, Agra.
Tarun Chugh
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance
Tarun Chugh joined Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance as the MD & CEO in April 2017. Tarun is also an elected member of the Life Insurance Council – Executive Committee. A seasoned industry veteran, he has over 23 years of experience in the financial services space, including over thirteen years of experience in the life insurance sector.
Tarun is a familiar figure in the Indian life insurance sector, having headed general management and strategic roles as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PNB Metlife India Life Insurance Company in February 2014. He has served as the Chief Distribution Officer and overseeing branch operations and marketing in ICICI Prudential Life Insurance. Tarun has also worked as an Investment Banker for 12 years before joining the Insurance sector.
Tarun is a graduate with a degree in engineering from IIT Delhi and completed his Post-graduation in Management from IIM, Lucknow, in 1994.
Anish Amin
President Group Risk, Assurance & Human Resources
Anish Amin is the President and head of the overall functions of Risk, Assurance, M&A and Human Resources at Bajaj Finserv Limited. He joined the organisation in 2019 to oversee the assurance and risk function and later took up the Group HR function as an additional portfolio to his present responsibilities. As the Group Head of Assurance and Risk, Anish oversees the risk management process of identifying potential risks that could lead to a capital call or affect the brand's reputation. Additionally, he leads a team of experts to evaluate and oversee the M&A opportunities and proposals that the Company may encounter.
He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Prior to joining Bajaj Finserv Limited, Anish was a senior partner at Dalal & Shah (a member of the PwC International Network). He was also a partner in the Assurance Practise at Pricewaterhouse India and led wide-ranging businesses, including manufacturing, trading, finance and insurance. He was also their sectoral leader in the insurance industry.
In a career spanning over three decades of wide-ranging industry experience and a proven track record in risk management, compliance with accounting standards, company law matters and general regulatory frameworks, Anish leads the task force in driving the Group's commitment towards identification and mitigation of emerging risks.
Purav A Jhaveri
President-Investments
Purav joined Bajaj Finserv in July 2020 as President-Investments. He is responsible for overseeing the Investment teams in the Bajaj Finserv group and serves on various Investment Committees. He is responsible for Investment Process development and enhancements. He is working on integrating ESG into the Investment Process and mentoring talent to ensure the achievement of Investment objectives and best-in-class Investment performance. Before joining Bajaj Finserv, Purav was a Managing Director of Investment Strategy and Portfolio Manager with Franklin Templeton Investments, USA and handled Investment teams in sixteen countries. He managed a global equity fund and an actively managed International ETF. Purav has been in the investment industry since 1994. Purav is inspired by Benjamin Franklin, one of the founding fathers of the American Declaration of Independence. Two quotes of Benjamin Franklin that resonate with him the most are; 'well done is better than well said, and 'an investment in knowledge pays the best interest'. Warren Buffett, visionary, business leader and philanthropist, inspires Purav tremendously. Buffett's quote, 'If a business does well, the stock eventually follows' is the core of Purav's Investment philosophy – finding good businesses to invest in.
Purav has an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his Master's in Management from NMIMS, University of Bombay. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter-holder and has a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification from the Global Association of Risk Professionals. Purav is a member of the CII National Committee on Financial Markets. The Committee enters into dialogue with the Government and Regulators to create a conducive regulatory environment for financial markets and the economy.
Devang Mody
Chief Executive Officer, Bajaj Finserv Health Limited & Group Head, Strategy, Bajaj Finserv Limited
Devang Mody joined Bajaj Finance in 2008 and moved on to lead Bajaj Finserv Health – a health-tech company, in 2019. From the company's most popular credit offering - 0% EMI loans for Consumer goods and other segments to its EMI cards, Devang has led several key digital initiatives at Bajaj Finserv. As the CEO of Bajaj Finserv Health, he created the 'Aarogya Care' – a unique healthcare product covering Health Insurance, OPD, Labs, Loyalty and Application benefits. Devang is passionate about solving real-life problems at scale and believes that technology is the enabler in making this a reality at a much lower cost. He says, "If passionate people are guided to achieve objectives, which can impact society positively, a scalable business model can be created."
Devang is a Wharton alumnus and a Chartered Accountant. Before working with Bajaj Finserv, he was associated with General Electric Money, where he held varied roles spanning six sigma, cross-sell, product management and business development. He was also involved in Business process Re-engineering for Petrochemical, Cement, and Software services customers at Ernst & Young.
Ashish Panchal
Chief Executive Officer – Bajaj Finserv Direct Limited
Ashish Panchal has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer, effective March 1, 2022.
He is a versatile retail-banking & payments business professional who brings more than 23 years of experience in strategic roles across various business verticals. Ashish has been associated with the Bajaj Finserv Group for the last 11 years and has last held the position of President - Rural Business, Investment Business, Insurance Business & Corporate Strategy at Bajaj Finance.
He has successfully managed start-up businesses as well as high growth, high scale businesses over the years that have withstood various economic cycles, leading them to grow in scale and profitability. Ashish leverages strong people management skills to drive innovative and customer-centric solutions to business problems. He has previously helmed leadership roles at Citibank and Barclays.
Ashish is an alumnus of Harvard Business School (AMP, '21) and has completed his Masters in Management Studies from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.
